Religion
During colonial times, Puritanism was the most popular faith among the new settlers of the colonies that were in the present-day New England area. New Hampshire was also dominated by the Puritan religion. Puritanism was established in the 16th century by the Church of England and was built around the idea that Catholic influences on the church must be “purified.” The intensity of this faith and its strict belief had a strong influence on New England. This influence made the New England people have strong ties to their religion which affected their culture and lifestyle very powerfully. Eventually, Puritanism faded out and was later replaced by the Protestant faiths.
